Mrs. Harry Zehrung of Connersville attended a Birthday Dinner club lunch at Miss Ethel Zehrung’s home Monday noon. Seating included Mrs. W. H. Deney, Mrs. Mary Wright, Mrs. Cora Bailey, Mrs. Charles Loeb, Mrs. M. R. Krahl, Mrs. B. L. Stratton, Mrs. Ed. Paul, Miss Rose Griesinger, Miss Alice Bradbury, and the guest.
Mrs Ben Johnson entertained her Tuesday Bridge club at home with guests Mrs James Butler and Mrs L A Stamper. Scores were posted for members Mrs W F Johnson Mrs Charles Lowery Mrs Earl Clevenger Mrs Paul Hill and Miss Mildred Locke.
Mrs. Susan Kellar of Troy Ohio marks her 81st birthday with dinner guests hosted by her daughter Mrs William Small. Guests include Mr and Mrs Harry Kellar Mr and Mrs Charles Kellar of Dayton and Mr and Mrs Herman Keller of Indianapolis. Susan Kellar is wintering with her daughter in Ohio.
Mr and Mrs Robert Wharton hosted a Sunday dinner. Attending were Mr and Mrs Charles Scates along with afternoon guests Loren Helmsing and family of Richmond and Hugh Bavender of Hagerstown. Homer Smith visited New Castle on Monday.
A petition from Goodhue County, Minnesota farmers urges immediate repeal of the marketing act and dissolution of the Farm Board. They demand drastic cuts in government expenses, lower taxes, reduced interest rates, and tariff protection, stating they want to be left alone.

James May of Centerville was here last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Ballard welcomed a baby boy Max Layman. Mrs. Everett Money returned from Indianapolis. Snyder family and Henry Seeger home efforts noted. Ruthey a student nurse visited her parents Sunday.
Public Service Company of Indiana will not revoke customer discounts for prompt payment during the national bank moratorium. President John N. Shanahan assures customers no loss of discounts due to payment delays, and notes plans to protect company finances if the moratorium extends further.
American Legion Auxiliary awards prizes to Lincoln high school contestants after a February 25 flag contest test. Raymond Smith won first with 95 in grade 5 Central school. Margaret Olvey 99 and grand prize of 2.50 in gold. Daisy Brockman 95 in grade 8 Lincoln junior high. Honorable mentions went to Maxine Wickes 80 Wahnella Lannerd 94 Virgil Eckhart 92. Thirty four pupils participated.
At a recent pastors meeting in Cambridge City Elin and Pershing outlined plans to observe Good Friday union services on April 14 at the Methodist Episcopal church. A committee of Revs Allen and Harrison will finalize music and program details for announcement in churches newspapers and public place cards.
Mrs George Decker returned to her home in Piqua Ohio Saturday after visiting daughter Mrs George Rihm and family William Doyle of Cincinnati was a Friday dinner guest of the Rihms
