A robber entered the Standard Oil station at Main and Center and demanded money after asking to use the toilet. He unlocked the safe, took about $100, locked the owner in a back room for over 30 minutes, then fled in a dilapidated Ford with two accomplices. State trooper Ed Beeson investigated.

Wilbur Miller son of Mrs Edna Miller was taken to the clinic at New Castle Friday and operated on for appendicitis. He was reported in a serious condition early this week.
Israel Dill learned last week of the death of his brother David Dill age 84 at Ft Wayne on Thursday evening. He leaves as brothers William Dill north of town and Mrs Rachel Scheidler.
The Helen Hunt Club sponsors a sale of needlework by blind women of Indiana on Friday and Saturday March 2 and 3 at Chmit's store. Mrs. Will Woodward and Mrs. Willard Petro oversee the event for this worthy cause.
