The Busy Bee 4-H club of Dudley township held its fourth meeting in Straughn Indiana with thirteen members present. Marie Langston reported on the round-up and an agenda for the next meeting was discussed. A program featured games and a piano solo by Kathleen Macy before refreshments and adjournment to the schoolhouse on June 24.
Loretta DeVaughn and John McGuire married Saturday afternoon at their newly furnished Third street home. Rev Father Walsh presided. Only immediate relatives and a few friends attended.

Prof J H Scholl principal of Washington township schools resigns after forty one years in education. He trained at Terre Haute State Normal 1893 Bloomington 1898 and studied at Columbia and Chicago. He held posts in Fayette, Brownsburg, Milton, Carthage and Rushville before returning to Milton. Lloyd Heller of Bluffton may fill the vacancy. Elizabeth Jones of Connersville joins Wilson junior high and high school Latin for 1930 31.
Dublin residents Mrs. Laura Snyder and John C. Huddleston were quietly married last Thursday afternoon at the home of Rev. and Mrs. M. L. Scheidler in Mt. Auburn. Rev. Scheidler officiated with Rev. and Mrs. Brown serving as best man and attendant. The couple are well known locally and receive warm wishes from the community.
Beeson, reappointed traffic officer for the State Police, had his motorcycle slip out last week. He broke the bone in his right hand and badly bruised his face, leaving him off duty for about four weeks.
Mrs Linville Ferguson will arrive from Buffalo this week to spend the summer with her parents Mr and Mrs Frank Ludington.
Miss Virginia Puckett spends the summer with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John Hazelrigg in Indianapolis.
Mrs Nina Pike of Spiceland sister of Mrs Will Pike has been visiting the Pike home for three weeks when she was stricken with paralysis Sunday evening and remains in serious condition.
Mrs. Robert Bertsch hosts her Bridge club Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Harper Lindsay visited Indianapolis on Tuesday. Max Masterson departed Monday morning for Milwaukee where he has a new position awaiting him.
Mr and Mrs Alvin Bertsch were dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Ralph Silver in Knightstown Sunday evening.
Mrs Lillian Lowery of Phoenix is spending the week with Mr and Mrs K P Diffenderfer, visiting family and friends in the area.
Mrs. Herbert Harrison hosts a party at Rose Trellis in Connersville for her daughter Eleanor Groves. Guests include Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kellam, Miss Martha Groff, Miss Helen Sanford, Miss Helen Drischel, Ernest Reynolds, and Frank Fisher. The couple, Eleanor Groves and Ellis Bevington, plan to wed this month.
Mrs Flora Hover spent the weekend with Mr and Mrs Robert Fansher in Bradford Ohio.

Mrs Elsworth Beck dies suddenly prompting Connersville family travel. Residents from Connersville Richmond and Dayton visit Germantown scenes and attend euchre gatherings.
On to Washington Charles Myers son of Mr and Mrs Frank Myers left Monday for Indianapolis and in the city was guest of Governor Harry Leslie. They flew to Washington D C on the Spirit of St Louis for the National camp of the 4H club for ten days. Charles is the only Wayne county boy on the trip. two Indiana boys and two Indiana girls also go. They are accompanied by Robert Amick former vocational teacher in Lincoln high school.
A social note recalls Miss Charlotte Newman entertaining the 500 club Tuesday evening. A correction from last week changes Omer Hormel to Edgar Hormel son of Omer Hormel. Attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. George Hormel, Jesse Hormel, Mrs. Carrie Copeland, Mr. and Mrs. Jas Creighton and Clifford Howard.
Mrs Walter McGuire reported a car theft while at a Baptist church meeting last Thursday evening. A state policeman located the vehicle near Lebanon and notified Ed Beeson. The car sustained no damage.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Personnett of Richmond and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Oldham and family of Dublin were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Isaacs last Sunday.
Mrs Nelson Eaton came back Sunday after a two week visit with her parents at Anderson.
Dumont Huddleston left Friday for Gainesville Florida to attend university. Mr and Mrs James Hamm Mr and Mrs Joe Hamm and Fred Hamm of Newcastle visited Sunday with Mr and Mrs Lowell Cornthwaite.
Woody Conner of Franklin College will spend the summer with his parents Mr and Mrs B R Conner. Miss Dorothy Fuller of Richmond visits two weeks with Mr and Mrs John Close Jr. Miss Frances Castetter leaves Sunday for Niles Ohio to stay with relatives. Mr and Mrs Ray Stephens of Muncie spent the weekend with home folks.
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Fox and Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Ballinger visited friends in Richmond on Sunday.
Mr and Mrs Claude Russell and family and Mr and Mrs Orville Denning of Richmond spent Sunday with their parents Mr and Mrs Ancil Williams.
Mrs E G Whelan traveled to Oberlin Ohio for commencement exercises at Oberlin College where her daughter Miss Anna Catherine Whelan graduated.
Sunday, June 15, marked the birthday of Harry Doll, the last permanent resident Civil War veteran, who celebrated with forty relatives. He received many cards and flowers from relatives including Opal Wilson Dillon of Madison Wis and C A Jolliff family. A four tier cake and cafeteria style repast followed with songs by Mrs. Frank Doll and the children. Relatives from several cities attended.
The M. E. Church observed Children's Day with songs and a short sermon by Rev. Sharp. Mrs. Clessie Hasket and Mrs. Alfred Kersey attended the Sunday school convention at Kennard. Mrs. William Clayton visited her daughter in Knightstown. Eugene Peelle returned with her to spend time with Eunice Bradway and friends.
Patricia Martindale visits June Snyder in Connersville while Floyd Petty and family from Middletown Ohio spend Sunday with friends. Jesse Muray of Richmond and his wife join her parents, as Hugh Foss hosts a Fathers Day dinner with Charles Hageman. Dr. D. W. Neeley and Bassett of Franklin Kentucky spent last week with W. N. Bassett's family and depart westward by car.
Miss Blanche Boyd hosted Monday dinner with Edward LaShelle and Mrs. Bonnie Blue Brown of Indianapolis and Mrs. Mae Boden as guests.

Miss Adell Edwards was taken to Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis Saturday where she received treatment for injuries. The report notes her condition as stable and ongoing observation by medical staff.
Ulysses Eaton visited Richmond with his daughter Mrs. Roy Warren. Ernest Bickel and Mrs. Bickel stayed in Middletown over the weekend with Dan and Mrs. Stonecipher. Ollie Rummel visited Emma Rothermel in Richmond. Mattie Walters toured Knights town to see Mrs. Harry Kuster and others. Emerson Cloyd, his son, and Miss Ma Dickson of Brownsville departed Monday for a three week motor trip through the western states.
Mr and Mrs William Clifton and their daughter spent Sunday with Mrs Emma Rothermel in Richmond.
The Booster class of the Lutheran church of Pershing held a Wednesday evening meeting with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Howard in attendance.
Mr and Mrs Grundy Veatch and daughter Miss Nellie reside in Connersville with Keith Veatch mentioned as part of the family, reflecting a local household记.
Mr. and Mrs. James Bozoarth and their children visited his mother in Bedford at the start of the week, sharing time with family.

The D A R will hold its last meeting of the year at the home of Mrs Will Woodward next Thursday afternoon June 26. Mrs J R Wharton received word Monday of the critical illness of her sister Mrs Sarah Sourbeer at her home in South Bend.
Members of the W. R. C. of this city attended the State convention at Wabash last week. Mrs. Minnie Hoover former president and Mrs. Nola Crook delegate spoke at Friday's regular meeting. Catherine Taylor of Bedford was elected state president for the coming year. Newcastle will host next year’s convention.
The Greensfork Home Economics group of about forty women and girls toured Cambridge City last Thursday. They visited Overbeck potteries Gaar nurseries and Frank Reynolds home and sunken ns. Luncheon was at the Peacock Inn. They toured the Tribune office and learned about newspaper production and job printing. The ladies enjoyed the visit and expressed appreciation for Cambridge City.
Weekly notes show visits and dinners across the Doddridge Chapel area. Guests include Alice Miller from Bentonville and Frances Wilson of Covington visiting Ola and Frances Wilson. Families shared Sundays with Doddridges, Judkins, Clevengers, and McNutt in Centerville and nearby communities.
Local families from Bentonville host relatives and travel to nearby towns. The Cambridge City choir sang at Ebenezer church and Geneva Moore read. Services are planned at Bentonville church on June 22. Several residents visited Shelbyville Dearborn county and Liberty for church services. Connections to Muncie Kentucky and Salina Kansas appear among travels and teaching plans.

Ladies Aid met with Katie Gentry and quilting followed. Meredith Macy and Marjorie Mills from Earlham College visiting parents. Numerous calls among Stites, Macy, and related families in Newcastle, Mays, Cambridge City, Centerville.
