Jackson Township Road Bonds Final Payment In 1936
County Auditor notes final payment on Jackson township road bonds of 5181 will occur in 1936 with a reduced levy from 20 to 13 cents for that year. Bonds totaling 173 420 were issued to improve road number forty along the National Road through Jackson township. Taxpayers have paid principal 119 600 and interest 53 820 to date. Church softball league begins second round next Saturday at Creitz park with Milton Christians vs Cambridge City Christians at 3 pm and Dublin Friends vs Pershing Lutherans at 4 pm. Presbyterian church has a bye.

Mrs Merriman Straughn suffered a painful bruise in a fall at her home last Wednesday afternoon. O R Reville of Tulsa arrived Friday to aid in care due to her age. June Sutphin of Richmond spent weekend with grandparents Robert and Mrs. Wharton. Seffrin hosts birthday dinner for Oscar Thompson and others including Yohler Brattain Brattain Bunyard Jones. McKee family plus Orlando visitors enjoyed a Paul farm picnic Tuesday evening. Ernest McGraw and Anna Volkert visited friends in Connersville Monday.

Five injured in Mount Lawn crash near New Castle
In a Sunday night head on collision north of Mount Lawn park, five people were injured with one in serious condition. Eugene Johnson, 25, suffered multiple injuries including a broken collar bone and brain concussion. Floyd Johnson, 31, was cut by scalp wounds. Charles Kain, 19, Leo Dawes, and Janet Geisler were also hurt. Deputies could not determine the crash cause. one car fled after the incident. Floyd Johnson is a Cambridge City jeweler. All victims were rushed to Henry county hospital.

Don Mann pitched a six hit shutout for the Merchants at Creitz Park to beat the Connersville Flashes 6-0 Sunday afternoon. The Merchants tallied six runs in the third inning aided by M Gauker and Mann two baggers and a key error on a play at the plate. J Gauker and J Melnerney led the Merchants at the plate with multiple hits as Warfield and Beck contributed two hits apiece and Mann had a two bagger. Next Sunday the Merchants face Wehi at Wehi Park in pursuit of their sixth victory against two defeats.
