Roads at Riverside cemetery were badly washed out by a torrential rain storm Saturday. Newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Richard Paul are expected home the last of the week from a trip to the Canadian Rockies.
The annual M. E. Service Guild picnic is set for Tuesday next week with Miss Virginia Martin, Mrs. Campbell Brower, Eunice Balenger, and Grace Balenger in charge. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hines and family visited over the weekend with his brother Paul Hines in Lagro.
Mrs Harry Watt and her daughter Ostmeint Shelbyville are spending the weekend with her mother Mrs Adam Mettert.
Mr and Mrs Richard Smith of Indianapolis spent the Fourth with Mrs Lester Sherry and relatives. Mr and Mrs C H Franklin of Blountsville spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs S W Worl and family.
Mr and Mrs Clarence Rybolt of Connersville spent Monday with his father Grover Rybolt and family. Miss Helen Gillespie of Martinsville spent the weekend as a guest of Max Masterson at the home of his parents Mr and Mrs Fred Masterson. Max, who spent his summer vacation at home, returned to his work in Cleveland Ohio Monday.
Mr and Mrs Arthur Ballenger and their daughter from Connersville spent the weekend with Mr and Mrs S S Bellinger.
Mr. and Mrs J Werstler and sons from Chicago visited the Owenses. Several families including Hunnicutt Rees Allen Manlove Riser and others spent weekends and weeknights with relatives in and near Dublin. Local residents traveled to Indianapolis Dayton Cambridge City Hamilton and New Castle for visits and time with family.

W. B. Dueker returned from a weekend with his parents at New Paris Indiana and announced the purchase of the old Ebert homestead at Simmons and Pottawatomie streets. He plans to move his family to the property soon.

A heavy one hour rainstorm drenched the state on Saturday causing flash flooding. Main street in Cam bridge City flooded several inches above sidewalks west of Green street. basements flooded in residential and business districts. More than 2% inches were recorded by local observer James Bozoarth as waters rose, making travel unsafe until Monday.
