In week two of the Indiana General Assembly 153 bills were introduced with 94 in the house and 59 in the senate. Tax related measures dominate with 23 aimed at property tax relief 26 to raise property taxes and 11 administrative bills whose impact is doubtful. The bulletin notes 293 bills introduced in total since the session began 106 concern taxation. The Indiana Taxpayers Association warns against compromise tax measures urging close scrutiny and opposition to tax increases. The Social Service Bureau appeals for household furnishings bed pillows and linoleum while stressing ongoing need for aid to vulnerable children.
