Extract from Indiana game laws states it is unlawful to hunt any kind of game from January 10 to April 1. With current weather few people are inclined to hunt, so the closed season will likely be well observed.
Several cases of smallpox and scarlet fever in Connersville have prompted a strict quarantine to prevent spread. Local authorities enforce isolation and monitor contacts as health officials trace exposures.
