G. J. Oglebay of Indianapolis was elected vice president and named to the board of directors at Public Service Company of Indiana. Earl H. Conway, also of Indianapolis, was announced as assistant comptroller. Conway has been with the company since November 1937. The board accepted the resignation of C. D. Porter as vice-president and director.
An installation service led by Mrs. Inez Money installed officers and teachers for the Dublin Friends church year. New appointees include Superintendent Bernice Lamberson and Assistant Evelyn Hunnicutt with officers for Junior Church, Literature, Home Department, and various classes.
Local residents share news of funerals and family travel. Hugh Petry’s funeral in Lewisville. Marie Thomas returns from Dayton. Hayes of Hagerstown hosted by Alice Elliott. Several residents travel to Arizona, California, Cincinnati, Cambridge City and Indianapolis.
A joint committee of the Kiwanis Club and Allied Merchants plans to move an out of town factory to Cambridge City. The three unit, 20 worker operation will bring immediate local jobs, with moving costs covered by a community fund solicited from business and residents.
The Adult Homemaking class at Lincoln High will hold its first meeting in the Home Economics room on Monday January 16 at 7 15 p m. The program, titled consumer education, will cover buying household goods clothing foods and canned meats to help determine value quality and price and how these affect daily living. A Monday night blaze at the country home of Mr and Mrs Carl Caldwell southwest of the city started in the fireplace. Neighbors and the city fire company contained the fire, with only minor damage after the fireplace was torn out to reach the blaze.
Mr and Mrs Robert Lambert and Mr and Mrs Herbert Dueker of Laporte returned home after spending the holidays with their parents Mr and Mrs W B Dueker.

The Cambridge City Kiwanis club held its first regular meeting of the year Tuesday in the Christian church under new president R. B. Grigsby. Twenty six members and guest Dr. H. E. Allen of Richmond attended. Attendance prize went to W. F. Johnson. Public affairs reported progress on landing a new factory for Cambridge City. Next meeting set for January 10 in Dublin Legion rooms, led by past president George Haight.
Mrs Ben Sanford has returned home from a visit with her daughter Mrs Calvin Nall and family at Louisville Kentucky.
Orville Hoel resumes duties with the United States Navy in Philadelphia after taking furlough to visit his mother, Mrs. Lola Hoel.
Mr and Mrs Harry M Watts and daughter Clydia of Shelbyville spent the weekend with her mother Mrs Adam Mettert.
The Lawrence H. Bertsch post of the American Legion will meet every Tuesday at 8 PM for the remainder of winter. A new schedule begins next Tuesday with a lunch at the close of the meeting.

Feemster & Feemster were named city attorneys for one year and Charles Diffenderfer was elected board president for the year. Smith cited health and business demands, noting his son in law Geo Wheeler's departure to Washington contributed to his decision.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Florea entertained a breakfast at their country home south of Milton after the New Year's Day Hartley Hills Country Club event. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. I Druley, Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Mil, Mr. and Mrs. Olin Davis, Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Keene, Dr. and Mrs. E.
