Local families gathered for Christmas night dinner with the DuGramat Hussey Whiteley and Harmeier households. A church Christmas program drew good attendance and a caroling party visited several community homes.
Local families from Muncie Noblesville Spiceland Lewistown and Lewisville visited relatives and friends during the holidays. Christmas activities included M E church exercises a Straughn high school program a large tree and treats for children. Paul Howard sustained a fall at school but regained consciousness after medical aid and is improving.
Mrs. Fred Worl shows slow improvement after three weeks of illness. Multiple families from Jacksonburg hosted Christmas events including Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kingrey and children, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Worl, and Mr. and Mrs. John Walters. Social Service Bureau reports ninety baskets given to residents with seventy five including additional staples. Grateful for wide cooperation and generous donations from many city people.
Miss Mabel Howard of Terre Haute is spending the weekend with her parents here. Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Young entertained the family with a turkey dinner on Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Petro returned home Sunday from a ten days visit with their daughter Mrs. Harry Hall and family in Mount Vernon New York.
Mrs Bert Davidson of Rushville spent the holidays with Mr and Mrs J V Young, enjoying seasonal fellowship.
Mr and Mrs Charles Bertsch entertained with a family dinner at their home on South Walnut street Sunday evening.

The couple plans a honeymoon eastward. he is a Richmond chemist with the state highway commission. The bride, a Winchester social figure, and the groom, a Cambridge City native, will reside in Richmond after January 1.
Miss Viola Fay daughter of Mrs Edna Fay Scott of Cambridge City wed Ralph Kofski son of Mrs Mary Wilt of this city in a Christmas Day ceremony at the bride's grandmother Mrs Clara V Ingemann's home. Rev F C McCormick officiated. The couple left for a motorバ trip through the south east visiting Florida Cuba Washington and other eastern cities.
Milwaukee residents expect a near legalization of beer sales as a new slate of films and attractions appears. The Grand Theatre advertises previews including Whoopee, Passion Flower, Eyes of the World, Devil with Women, The Big Trail, King of Jazz, Her Man, DuBarry, and Woman of Passion.

Mr and Mrs Charles F Hageman hosted Christmas Day guests including Mr and Mrs Thomas Banks Miss Ethel Banks of Muncie and Mr and Mrs Hugh Foss The Banks fiftieth wedding anniversary was observed at the Hageman home alongside Christmas festivities Mrs Banks is Mrs Hageman’s sister.

Guests included Mrs Charles Ferguson Mrs Frank Marson Mrs Zelma Marson of Indianapolis Mrs Robert Hughes Mrs Abiram Boyd Mrs Bruce Peters Mrs Robert Krone Miss Gertrude Routh Miss Elizabeth Paul Miss Marie Bolenbaugh of Richmond and Miss Helen Hicks.

Mrs. Mary Ingermann aged 61 wife of Charles Ingermann died at Fayette Memorial hospital Connersville Tuesday night from internal injuries after being struck by an auto driven by D L Mills of Dayton. She stood in the street when hit and died six hours later. Surviving are husband two daughters and four sons nine grandchildren a sister and four brothers. Burial at Riverside after Christian church services. Mrs Don Drischel was taken to Newcastle hospital for observation.
Friends announce the birth of a daughter to Dr and Mrs Sherrill Winter of Cleveland Ohio on December 24. Mrs Fred Adrian spent the weekend with relatives in Newcastle.
