Jackson township Farm Bureau plans a Monday December 22 session at 7 30 PM in the Lincoln high school building. Purdue's R B Biggs will present an illustrated lecture on the European corn borer. Families invited to bring a dish and sandwiches. chairman Paul R Bertsch urges attendance.

Cambridge City corn show shines with more exhibits

The Kiwanis sponsored event at the Central Hotel drew larger attendance and more entries than last year. Thirty nine corn exhibits across three classes plus fifteen from 4 H club girls showcased improving quality and uniformity. First place winners included Jesse Huddleston and Elmer Land among others in Adult and class divisions. 4-H and girls divisions also honored top exhibitors. Agricultural committee praised all participants and urged even bigger turnout next year.

Record of long Chevrolet road trip from Palm Beach

Ray Lamberson of Paul Chevrolet Sales receives a postal card detailing a trip from Palm Beach Florida to a mountainous route. The message lists a 509 mile day plus six stops, total 1230 miles in 32 hours with 60 gallons of gas and one quart of oil used. It notes an average speed of 38 percent miles per hour.

Helen Hunt Club Meeting Highlights Fund Drive and Negro Study

The Helen Hunt club met at Mrs. Hugh Foss's home and donated five dollars to the Community Christmas Fund. A five dollar Health Bond was bought with Wayne County Tuberculosis Association cooperation. Miss Blanche Boyd discussed Phyllis Wheatley, a negro slave poetess, and Mrs. Wallace Warren explored the Religion of the Negro. The discussion noted gospel songs' relation to spirituals, and the group sang Darling Nellie Gray and Old Folks at Home.
