Motorists face a dangerous detour bridge over the river with repeated accidents. Early morning frosts worsen conditions and call for careful driving until thaw. Last Saturday about 8 30 Mr and Mrs Rollie Hogan of Pershing were horrifically cut and shocked after their car plunged through rails into the water. Virginia C Meredith 88 Buried in Riverside Here

Virginia C. Meredith 88 died last Thursday at the home of her adopted daughter Miss Mary Matthews in West Lafayette after a three month illness. She was the first woman on Purdue University Board of Trustees serving since 1921 and reappointed last July for a new term. She led in home and farm development and ran a 400 acre farm near Cambridge City with prize Shorthorn cattle and Shropshire sheep. She helped found the Indiana Federation of Clubs and was honorary president. Survived by an adopted son Meredith Matthews and a brother Frank Claypool. Funeral at Miss Matthews home with burial in Riverside cemetery.
