Mrs. Robert Wharton is very seriously ill. Numerous visits and domestic travel details follow, including Miss Maxine Buser's observation trip to Newcastle, weekend stays in Lafayette Indianapolis and Richmond, church activities such as a Hard Time party and Sewing Circle luncheon, and multiple family visits among Cornthwaite and related households.
Anderson Mantooth and family relocate this week to a Greensburg area farm. Mr and Mrs John Close Jr and Mrs John Close sr spent Sunday in Indianapolis visiting relatives. Wm Courtney returned to his Cleveland home Thursday after two months with Mr and Mrs Arthur Cosgrove.
Mr and Mrs W M Miller and daughters came back Sunday from a month long visit with relatives in Wisconsin.
Miss Beulah Moore of Rossville spent the weekend as a guest of Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Miller, enjoying hospitality and time with the couple.
Scott and Virginia Griffin of Spice land visit cousin David Wilson. Mrs. L B Lower and son spend the day with Mr Lower's parents in Rushville. Mrs Robert Bertsch hosts Friday Study Club kickoff and cooperative luncheon on Saturday.
Mr and Mrs Merle Lamott and their son from Topeka Kansas are spending this week here with relatives.
Mr and Mrs Arthur Lamott hosted dinner Sunday with Merle Lamott and son Marshall of Kansas, Archie Wills and family, Leroy West and family. Afternoon callers included Clarence Varnauf and wife.
A group of young friends hosted a farewell five see and shower for Ferel Lee last week. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hinsky, Rowena Bertsch, Jayne and Wills, Iretta Howell, Violet Gibbs, Alfa and Martha Lee, James Ra Wil mer Lampkins, Chacel, Grace Hale, Joe Bales, Archie W James, Louis Lee and others.
The Catholic parish observes the fiftieth anniversary of the dedication of St Elizabeth's Church with a Jubil ee Mass at 10 a m. The Rt Rev Joseph Chartrand will preach and confirm. A 1500 person dinner and a picnic will follow. Father Walsh has prepared a booklet tracing the parish from 1842 mission days to the present.
Mary Bradway daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Bradway wed Delbert Pitman son of Mr and Mrs Clarence Pitman in a a home ceremony attended by close family. Rev F C McCormick officiated with Nora Brown playing the wedding march and Mrs John Brown singing. Afterward the couple left for a lake trip in northern Michigan.
Rev Richard Barhrar is appointed as pastor to the Nazarene church in Nesarane. The local congregation, Sree SS Diana of the Chef, reports the pastoral transition and the church’s closure at New Sunday.
Officials recount the waterworks well drilled last week but not yet tested. Homer L. Smith of Kirkpatrick Gravel Co. operates a centrifugal pump to test the well before connecting it to the city system. If the yield is insufficient, another well will be drilled, as planners remain confident ample water lies nearby.
Dr. Robert Mosbaugh from Oxford and his family visited over Sunday with his mother Mrs. Alice L Mosbaugh. He entered the National Shooting Match in Dayton last week where 1 100 contestants from the states and Canada vied for 3500 first prize. His score of 96 was just one behind the winner's 97 to take second money.
Mrs Louise Nahan en route from Terre Haute to Florida where she teaches in schools arrived Monday as guest of Mr and Mrs W H Doney. She is daughter of the late Rev R E Hawley former pastor of the local Presbyterian church and has many friends in the area.
Delma Theobald spent Wednesday night with Miss Thelma Jackson. The Ben tonville church held a Go to College Service with Rev. Poe delivering a sermon. The Manlove reunion drew relatives from Cincinnati to Greenfield and to local hosts. Posey Township 4 H club members won premiums at Connersville fair. Charles H. Rieats and family, Robert Manlove and others traveled to Cincinnati.
Local residents gather at Miss Lorena Wrights home to bid farewell to Clayton Wight and family as they move to Kentucky. Neighbors from Webster Centerville Connersville Cambridge City and nearby towns visit, share a pleasant evening, and enjoy ice cream and cake.
Mrs Thomas Stanley of New York City visited her brother Leroy Mills and family for a few days. Herman Miles of Earlham College spoke at the church Sunday. Neighbors cleaned the school house and church Wednesday. Nathaniel Gentry, visiting his son Dolph in Muncie, is very ill. Mrs Austin Brown stays with her son Harold while in hospital. Dallas Stites family visited Rushville relatives Sunday. Farm Bureau picnic at Memorial Park Newcastle drew locals. Pearl Cox staying in Cambridge City with Walter Cox. Lenna Dety of Milton visits Maude Thurman. Amos Sarver attended a reunion in Indianapolis. Lucy Gilbert visited Esther Binford near Spiderland. Emily Langston and Marjorie Mills attended a farewell at Dublin. Maude Thurman called on Dallas Stites and daughters Thursday.
