At Camp Ki-Ro on Friday night the Court of Honor awarded four palms. J. Clayton Smith of Cambridge City troop received the Gold Eagle Palm, while Thomas Daggy Howard Huen and Harry Chambers of Wayne County earned Bronze Eagle Palms.
Mrs Ford Romer and her daughter Mary of Celina Ohio visited this week staying with friends in their former home. They attended the Catholic church members home coming on Saturday and joined a picnic Sunday at Manlove Park.

Miss Mary Cathryne Johnston visits Mr and Mrs Laverne Newkirk in Rushville for the week. Mr and Mrs Harrold Selig announce the birth of a son at Reid Hospital Richmond on Saturday named Max Eugene.
Robert Fansher and the Bradford Ohio family member spent Friday with Mrs Flora Hoover. Mr and Mrs Edward Jackson of Muncie visited Thursday with her brother Mr and Mrs Geo Schafer.
Mrs Autus Lamb formerly of this community spends the week visiting relatives and friends in town and in Hagerstown.
Miss Isabell Kling Miss Henriette Zimmerman and Miss Velletta Bachmann spent the first of the week with Miss Marylee Francis in Lafayette.
Rudolph Hoover aged 78 died Sunday morning at his Mulberry street home after a long hip injury. He leaves widow Anna a daughter Mrs John Stamm six grandchildren and three great grandchildren and one brother Dan of Hagerstown. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 30 at Brick church west of Hagertown with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Reverends Miley and McCormick officiated.
Miss Ruth Dodson and Miss Barbara Dodson joined Velletta Bachmann Olgia Marie Bachmann and Mary Dickson of Brownsville for a Sunday visit at Miss Maxine Scott's home in Zionville.
Mr and Mrs Lowell Ellman and relatives Kenneth Francis and Martha Ellman of Jobanon Ohio were recent guests at the home of Mr and Mrs Howard Golden in Middleboro.
W A Creitz sustained an almost fatal electric shock at home on Thursday afternoon while wiring a cement foundation for a new heating furnace. Wet hands and clothing caused the shock as he prepared to connect an extension cord with a bulb in his left hand. Mrs Blempke and his daughter aided him and he was carried to his room for care.
Mrs. Clara Wolfgang formerly of Milton and Hagerstown wed W F Stonebraker of Dayton Ohio. The pair planned to marry forty five years ago but were separated by a misunderstanding. Both had spouses who died, and now enjoy a lengthy honeymoon in Michigan.
Mr and Mrs Harry Bachmann and family and Jr Ridenhour spent Sunday at Lynden Kentucky visiting friends and enjoying the day together.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hormel of Indianapolis visited and stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Fagan over the weekend, sharing time in the community.
Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Reese, visiting California, intend to return to Chester, West Virginia this month where Mrs. Reese has agreed to teach for another year. After that she will retire from teaching and the couple will locate their permanent home in California.
Mr Archie Wills and Mrs Archie Wills were in Cincinnati for a Sunday outing. Their visit focused on local sights and leisure activities during the weekend.

Miss Nellie Jackson and Mrs Richard Locke visited Miss Emma Duncan at the county infirmary Friday. Miss Duncan is in a serious condition. Rev. M. R. Mohler, former pastor of the Lutheran church at Pershing, paid the Tribune force a visit last Thursday. Mrs. Stanley Scheidler and daughters are spending this week in Dayton with her brother and family. Orville Thalls spent Sunday with his sister Mrs. Clay Lester and family in Newcastle.
Miss Alice Bradbury returned Sunday from a visit with friends in Michigan.
Indianapolis August 10 Ed Tribune: a payment of 3.00 for 1929 and 1930 subscriptions accompanies a note from a reader claiming 60 years as a printer in the Tribune office beginning in 1870. He references a bass fishing story and memories of Wehi Lake Germantown and blue-girl fishing tales.

John Condo of Moline Illinois renewed his Tribune subscription for a year in advance. He is a Germantown native and son of the late Adam Condo, once a Condo breaking plow manufacturer. He joined by his nephew Daniel Condo and Monticello Indiana relatives for a Lake Wehi dinner gathering.
The next annual Farm Bureau picnic for Wayne County members will be held at Glen Miller Park early in September. Committee on program includes Lindley Axker Roy Ronan and Earl Crawford. Grounds handled by Ed Dietmeyer and Leonard Duke. Advertising led by H S Heckard and Marie Bolenbaugh.
In Richmond Morton school basketball plans for the coming season leave Nov 27 and Jan 4 open and do not name Lincoln or Wampus Cats. The coach is urged to schedule a real game with the Wampus Cats on those dates.

Ed. Tribune from Indianapolis dated August 9 recounts a letter from Rebecca Toms Jones reflecting on Cambridge City past friends and schooling, noting only Frank Mosbaugh remains and expressing hope of reunion in a better land.
The invasion of the European corn borer was first detected in Dalton township Wayne county by the state entomologist on Friday. The pest has appeared in three other counties Henry Howard and Madison. In Henry county it was found in Stoney Creek township near Dalton.
Lonnie Waller of Indianapolis and a member of the famous class of 98 spent Sunday at Lake Wehr with a group of former school mates. The class included one girl and ten boys, and several friends joined the outing for a relaxed day by the lake.

Omer Kirlin aged 71 died at his home south of Milton early Saturday after several months of illness. Survived by wife, one daughter Mrs. Ross Cramer of Heiserg Station, two sons Charles of Milton and John at home, two grandchildren Janet Kirlin and Howard Kirlin. Funeral services held at home Monday afternoon led by Rev. F. McCormick. Burial in Lutheran cemetery at Pershing.
George Schafer was brought home Saturday from the hospital in Conn ersville after an appendicitis operation and is recovering nicely.
Mr and Mrs Wm Wills and their baby from Cincinnati spent the weekend with her parents Mr and Mrs Albert Kelsey.
The Loyal Woman's class of the Christian church will hold their monthly meeting at the home of their teacher Mrs. J. H. Ayers this afternoon. A picnic supper is planned for the evening.

Thousands witnessed the corner stone ceremony for St Elizabeth's Catholic church in Cambridge City. Bishop Chartard officiated with a large procession. articles sealed in a tin box included school histories and coins. The building, 40280 feet with a 95 foot nave, will be roofed in slate and enclosed before winter.
