The Wayne County Highway Department schedules a picnic at Creitz Park on Saturday August 15. The program runs from 8 30 a m to 4 30 p m. A baseball game is planned between East and West End members with each side asserting it now. Bertsch family marks 72nd anniversary supper move

PERSHING Ind August 10 Last Saturday evening at 5 o'clock marked the 72nd anniversary of David Bertsch's first supper in Wayne county. Dave with his parents moved from Seven Mile Ohio to the farm north of town now occupied by Harvey Bertsch. It required six wagons to move their household and farming equipment, driving 3 cows, and they were two days on the trip. The same trip can be made today by auto in two hours.

Warren T. Gipe, 73, former Pennsylvania Railroad engineer, died last Monday at his Indianapolis home. Funeral at East Park M. E. Church, burial in Crown Hill. Born February 14, 1858 in East Germantown now Pershing, he moved to Indianapolis at fourteen. Survived by two daughters Delia Smock and Mabel Roberts of Indianapolis and a son Walter W. Gipe of Greentown. widow Elizabeth Gipe preceded him in death.
