Missing Azusa Youth Found Dead in Canyon
An Azusa youth reported missing by his parents Friday afternoon was found dead Sunday at the bottom of a canyon about three miles north of Crystal Lake in the Angeles National Forest. Charles Edward Frank, 19, of S663 Rockvale Ave., apparently lost control of his car and plunged over a cliff on Highway 89. He was thrown from the car which tumbled 1,000 feet down from the roadway. An informant saw skid marks on Highway 89 Sunday morning and located the car in the canyon. San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team members reached the wreckage and found Frank's body nearby.
