Christmas party season fills Atherton with events. CWA Younger Set hosted the parent branch with singing, games, and a Santa visit. Local ladies and visitors from Mareeba Townsville and Brisbane attended multiple dinners and dances at the RSL showgrounds and various clubs during December.
On December 18 the children of St Lawrence Church in Edmonton staged a Christmas presentation. Rev J L Richardson led the event with a play What is Christmas. Prizes and certificates were awarded to many children for neat and full Sunday school stamp albums. Mrs Mole was thanked for her year of service and gifts were presented to her. Mr Zammitt and granddaughters planned a trip to Sydney by mail train.
