The Great Republic mine, located about three miles west of Butte, yields ore at 50 feet depth in a seven foot bed free of bases, containing 1092 to 300 ounces of silver per ton. Ramsdell Bulcher and Valbot own the property, leased to Foster and Swan, with strong indications this camp may have a lasting lead.
The People’s Stage and Express Line will operate daily except Sunday, round trip Deer Lodge to Butte and return. The coach departs Deer Lodge at 7 a.m. and arrives in Butte around noon, returning from Butte at 5 p.m. and arriving Deer Lodge about 9 p.m. Freight or passage inquiries to Sam Scott Deer Lodge Foster Ray Butte and to the Dean Silver Bow.
