Rolla Missouri Sept 24 In a jealous rage J S Croaswell an instructor at the School of Mines and Metallurgy shot Mollie Powell through the heart at her home and fled. A mob pursued him but he later shot himself in a barn near the city. He had been courting Mollie Powell for months and had returned from a brief stint in the east before the tragedy. Local notes report rains good wheat sowing and continued farm work with various residents visiting Idaho Pleasant Gap and other local spots.
