Dallas County Votes Dry in Local Option Election
Dallas Texas on September 10 reported Dallas County as the deciding area in a local option vote. Prohibitionists led by about 1509 with only six of sixty six precincts counted, while Dallas city remained wet by a narrow margin. About nineteen thousand votes were cast from a 28 thousand registration. The county, excluding Dallas city, has been dry for twenty five years and contains more than two hundred saloons and several large wholesale liquor houses. Prohibition leaders called Dallas the largest city in the country to vote out liquor by the local option route.

Nevada Missouri September 7 The quarantine of the Fourth Regiment detachment from Louisiana Mo was lifted after doctors concluded the suspected spinal meningitis case was an anti typhoid serum reaction. Microscopy showed no meningitis though symptoms resembled the disease.
