The advert promotes Iron Clad wagons with steel corners and riveted rims, claiming exclusive sale in Bates county. It lists 12 rubber tire and 10 steel tire styles, 100 buggies in stock with varied body sizes, and a wide range of farm equipment including plows, cultivators, planters, collars, blankets, and harness gear. It touts No. 9 single kernel drop planters and urges customers to inspect current stock and bring produce.
A musical event at the school house was well attended. Belle Robinson won the vot best looking Indy and Belle. Will Zimmer was ill but improving. Ebony Funk from Mt. Pleasant visited Sunday school. Many neighbors attended church and school activities. A wind storm caused no major local damage.

Local notes report the death of Mrs. Anna Shields Helmer at 25 after consumption, with funeral rites held in Virginia and burial in Butler. Her family, moved from west of Virginia to Kansas, leaves two children. Hyatt & Sons of Butler Maine advertise two 1902 breeding stallions Colored Boy a black draft stallion 30 miles east of Butler and Senator Goebel a Montrose saddie stallion insured for 8 to 10 dollars. Both will make the season at Hyatt barns.
