Judge orders jail for assault charge in escaped patient case
In Nevada Missouri on February 27 Judge Tim monds remanded Harry Jones and Mel Ashbrook to Vernon county jail on a charge of criminally assaulting Bertha Libbicke, an escaped patient from the state insane asylum. The trial is set for this term of the circuit court. Libbicke escaped yesterday.

Ardmer, I. T., Feb. 27. Wade Hampton, a prominent cattleman, was arrested at his home near Foster I. T. yesterday by the Coleman county sheriff of Texas on a murder charge dating back 31 years. Hampton accompanied the sheriff willingly, treating the matter as a joke. He has lived in northern Texas and Indian Territory for many years.

A blaze at Wear livery barn on Sixth and Olive streets Saturday afternoon swept the large barn, portions of its contents, and four nearby dwellings within an hour. The Review office just south of the site escaped severe damage. Loss estimated around $6,000. Property owners include Dr. H Smalley Wm Wear W H Merchant and W W Cate. Strong winds aided rapid spread, narrowly averting greater destruction.
