Fort Worth Texas February 21 Aurora a small town thirty miles from Fort Worth is gripped by a deadly meningitis or spotted fever outbreak. Half the residents have fled while nurses and doctors are scarce. Six to seven residents have died and many more fall ill as the disease spreads amid panic. The report also notes a separate item on Oklahoma Negro population buildup and a local merchants association meeting in Butler Missouri promoting a credit tightening system to require payment from slow payers and debtors.

A courier from the Hassayampa reports a huge water surge at 2 a.m. Saturday destroying two lower dams and likely killing 24 workers, with 30 whites and three Chinese among the dead. The upper dam broke, dragging the others downstream. Property losses near $800,000. Wickenburg reportedly safe, full toll still uncertain for the stretch between the town and the dam.
