Foster residents hear ministers in Parker and Butler, celebrate birthdays, and report arrivals. A reward pledge to curb poisonings and local race plans for S. district judge reflect town concerns.
Weather remains fine but potential for snow or rain looms. William Searfus delivered hogs to market Monday. Mrs. Geo R Daniels returns to Imes Kansas with Marie Gough and May Daniels. Multiple locals on the sick list and a funeral for Lafe Frazee at Star church. Several community events, births, marriages, and local business notes follow, including boxing glove purchases, sawmill moves, library successes, and upcoming conventions.

Eastern Bates notes several visits to W. E. Van Sant and McFerran from Henry Porter and Mr. Hutchens of Archie. West Murphy survived a severe fall after his horse bolted, breaking a neck bone and collar bone but recovering well. Local farm activity includes M. W. Carroll visiting from Sedalia and multiple hog trades at Butler. A township convention is set for Spruce on Feb 10, with various property moves and church services announced amid ongoing home building and land transactions.
Percy Hoyle and family spent Sunday at Byron Clossen's home. A horse treated by Frank Nance after a severe kick is expected to recover. E. L. Cain and family plan a western trip. A merry Saturday night party honored them with good food and lively fun. Visitors included Mr. and Mrs. McElroy and children Ethel and Lyle Fisher. John Nance injured in a prior auto accident. The fair grounds matter was adjusted for the time being by John Klumpp and Loeb Bros. assuming the obligation temporarily for the benefit of the fair association. The association may still redeem the property and will call stockholders to decide the best method, whether to pursue a sound basis or disband.
Joshua L. Dickerson born June 3 1826 in Madison County Kentucky moved to Illinois in 1833 married Corintha Collins in November 1854. In 1887 he moved to Missouri and died February 2 1912. Rev Clapp preached the funeral at the house Saturday at two oclock. Buried beside his wife who died in 1902.
