Sedalia Missouri August 13 The Democratic congressional convention adjourned after three days and 949 ballots with no change. They referred the candidate selection to a district wide primary to be held at all counties, the one with the most votes to be the nominee. Delegates from Heard Cosgrove and Yeaman debated strategy. A later note recalls a neighbor’s critique of gossip and social strife in town society.
