Annual Meeting of Third Missouri District Held in Butler
The afth Annual Meeting of the Third Missouri District of the Christian Endeavor society met in Butler for three days. Delegates from Kansas City led in attendance with other local pastors and officers delivering addresses. A banquet at the Inn, a box lunch at Christy’s Lake, and life service recruitment followed the closing sermon by Rev. C G Partridge. Officers elected included Alford Dorvitt as president and Mrs Fred Williams as county and alumni chairman.

Busy Times With The Odd Fellows Picnic Planned
On Monday night June 1, county lodge representatives met with the local lodge to set a county Odd Fellows Picnic in Butler on July 26. The Liberty home group including a boys band and quartette plus girls quartette, with Grand Officers and Pastor Patricia Pritchard of Webb City, Mo., will perform. A basket dinner and supper with music, singing, and speaking are planned. Grand Instructor Colonel Harry A. Collins of Jamar attended and the Rich Hill lodge candidate received the First Degree. Bates Lodge No. 180 is noted for its strong degree staff in southwest Missouri.
