Decoration Day Services in Butler Town
The usual decoration day program occurred Monday with a parade including the Butler band soldiers from three wars flower girls and automobiles carrying flowers to honor graves. Services at Oak Hill cemetery honored veterans of the 1860s war and World War I and II era with talks by N C Massey and D C Chastain. Taps was sounded by Starley Johnson. Sunday afternoon memorials at Ohio Street M E church featured Rev N A Mitchell and a Legion led musical program.

Fire at Fisk’s Theatre Causes Gasoline Blaze
A Wednesday blaze at Fisk’s Theatre started when a gasolene torch ignited gasoline in a piping line near the corn popping machine. George, burning on arm and hand, was aided by Manager Fisk and treated by Dr. Chastain with no serious injuries. The machine, a partition, and rear seating were damaged while interior decorations were smoke stained. The fire department extinguished the flames with chemicals.
