St Josephs School Annual Sports Day Held After Rain Delay

Saint Josephs Burra held Sports Day on September Saturday in bright sun with two houses St Josephs led by Mary Priest and St Patricks led by Jean Fisher. St Patricks won the House March and St Josephs took most other events as points tallied St Patricks 60 St Josephs 38. Prizes awarded for individual excellence and a trophy for general efficiency won by St Josephs.

St Joseph's Stall event shines with children winners

Leighton participants Mr M Williams and Mr S Miller, each 240, competed in a St Joseph's Stall fundraiser won by Mr Thamm. The St Patrick's aid was divided among Rev Dr Walsh, L Hood and p J Byrne. Mayor and Mayoress Mr and Mrs Jennison attended, presenting cups to St Joseph's House and other winners, with speeches praising effort and community spirit.
