The Hallett Terowie circuit announces a September series with nightly services at 7 p.m led by Rev. G Armstrong at Hallett Terowie and Mt Bryan including Salvation Army events at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for Holy Holiness and Young People's Classes at 7 p.m.
On September 14 members and friends of the Square Dance Club traveled to Red Banks for a Chop Picnic. About 60 youths attended, most in Mr M J Halnrich’s lorry. A large fire, chops and sausages grilled, coffee, singing with Johnny Carpenter on guitar, and sweets followed before returning home around midnight.
A Friday night concert at the Kooringa Methodist Sunday School hall raised funds for circuit totals. Performances included Miss Val Terry and Mary Best with an overture, Mrs Bob Crewes’s song, Rosemary Campbell’s elocution, John Carpenter’s popular numbers, a Parable of Pragical Son enacted by Young Worshipper League, and pieces by June Finch, Williams, Denton, and R Ampbell. Jo— Carpenter and others accompanied with guitar, accordion, and mouth organ, ending with a one act play Grand Champ Diamond Cast.
Auctioneer advertises a WB two speed four to six ton truck about twelve months old. Note mentions tires and overall appearance good. Listing suggests solid basic condition for sale.
Ellen Martin and Joan Keuly joined Collin Nankstuell as Mrs Williams led an auction at a charity event. Aprons modeled by young men prompted merriment as donations totaled £12 with net proceeds £0 after costs. Mr Colin Nandidveu, junior circuit steward, thanked the artists and Mr Williams for their help.
