Spalding and Burra Bowling Opens Won by Local Clubs
On a fine spring day the Spalding Bowling Green was opened with officials from the Bowling Club, district and associations present. A large crowd from Spalding and nearby towns attended as President Mr C Allen and Secretary Mr C Sando, with MP Mr G S Hawker, opened the green. The Burra club also celebrated its opening with visitors from Saddleworth Auburn and Clare, and officials including Mr R J Jeffery presiding. A rifle club match between Tanunda and Burra drew a 1 1 draw, with Jim Brown top scoring for Burra. A social afternoon tea followed both events.
