Rainbow Fair at Methodist Ladies Church Aid Fete

A Rainbow Fair fete sponsored by the Methodist Ladies Church Aid opened on the 12th November in the Sunday school with stalls decorated in rainbow colors. Mrs. Thomas of The Pines Aberdeen opened the event and praised reliable workers. Proceeds reached about $46 with many stalls run by Ladies Church Aid members and a tea room serving cakes and sandwiches.

Redruth Methodist Sunday School Fete Opens for Trust Funds

The Redruth Methodist Memorial Hall hosted a Saturday fair to boost Sunday School Trust funds. Mayoress Mrs A S Riggs opened the event, praised by Rev F J Barnes, with Mrs H Thomas and Mrs M J Morton present. Proceeds support the school and upkeep, and attendees admired the new building and its comforts while children and staff contributed goods and displays.

E Bryce oversaw the sweet and cake stall with orange and lemon decor and refreshments. Afternoon tea in the Primary room featured pink daisies and Iceland poppies. Ted Reed won a fishing contest as proceeds reached about £50.

Burra Rifle Club Hosts Light Horse Match at 200 Yards

The Burra Rifle Club and Light Horse teams competed in a 200 yard match with 10 shots per man. H G Oates led with top scores while A P Harris and S Moore posted strong entries. next week the Kookaburra Trophy will be contested at 800 and 900 yards with Corden and Hogan overseeing.

Social reunion set for December first Saturday

RS.A. notes announce a reunion smoke social on the first Saturday in December to be held in the Chile rooms with Mrs. Carter in charge of catering Jock Marison planning the program and a big attendance expected Visitors from surrounding sub-branches expected to attend a two shillings fee to meet costs and support from district ex servicemen regardless of membership Also noted are three important events that week Operas elections and the social Limbless Saldiste Association and a thank you letter from the Rifle Club after a £24 donation from their Eight Hours Day match.
