A blaze struck Hallett on Friday morning burning between 300 and 400 acres of valuable prastlands and straying into Mr P. W. Sumner and Mr A. Metoni es properties. The fire began about 11 00 am near a goods train and spread rapidly through Cappeedee Station area, with crews fighting on foot using knapsack sprayers due to rough terrain and limited vehicle access.
