Haflété School Welfare Club June meeting notes
The Haflété School Welfare Club met on June 2 with about 20 members. Minutes were read and confirmed. They approved spending £10 on library books and a new basketball cover, watched a teacher led movie, and enjoyed singing. Mrs Owen Smyth won a competition. Hostesses were Mesdames N Jeffery, T Richards, and M McDonald.

Ladies Club Meeting Attracts Wide Attendance On June Twenty First
Mr Bryan C W A and Mrs F Jefferies presided at a well attended meeting on 21 June. Apologies came from several members. Committees arranged stalls for the forthcoming fete on August 30 with gifts, flowers, cakes, and tea. Birthdays, competitions, and a musical afternoon were planned, with Lois Edwards receiving gifts. Trading tables yielded funds of £2 11s 6d and £1 7s 6d for afternoon tea hosts.
