Burra Town Council Minutes Open 1954 Meeting
The Burra Town Council met in Cornei Chase with His Worship the Mayor and councilors present. Correspondence thanked the Council for school support and requested a cost estimate for bituminous surface at the school. A tree planting campaign for 1954 to commemorate Her Majesty the Queen’s visit was supported by some and deferred by others. The Council agreed to pay half the trailer pump repairs and to thank Downer for cooperation. Public Works advised adding grit and a request to lay two cables on Adel side road to Clare turn off was discussed. The water tank at Burra Cemetery was assigned to His Worship and Town Clerk. Abstracts of accounts were adopted for payment.
