District Council of Burra Burra met February 1948 with all present except Dr Warnes. Proposals included motor truck chassis purchase, interest free loan, fire protection plans, stand pipes, relocation of fire tanks, and appointing a Fire Control Officer. Various correspondences reviewed, including road, land transfers, and depot licensing for inflammable oils.
Townsend reports list various road work duties including Beckwith on Mt Bryan Ward Cr, Keynes-Pour rubble load in Baldry Creek, Mickel-Grade on main street tanson south of plantation, Licas-Sheeting on Hansod-Tronmine Road, Finch-Repairs on Mullaby road, and gutters near Magpie Ranger. Adoption of reports recorded. Payments in aid district account show Highways District Fund £52 8s 8d and Grant in aid £32 7s 3d.
