Burra men's branch announces a general meeting on Friday February 20 at 8 oclock in the morning. Delegates from the country convention are requested to attend. Hon Sec Riggs reminds members to bring any other business for discussion.
All pupils at Burra High School are asked to contact Headmaster Mr H. C. Federick immediately.
The firm and families express gratitude to all who assisted in stopping a February 1948 fire from reaching their property. Special thanks to Dr W and Mr Steven for their efforts and to Praibilla Bros for their support.
Ex servicemen and women may now apply for Commonwealth Reconstruction Training in teaching and nursing until June 20, 1948. Requirements: teaching applicants must enlist or be called up before age 26 and will serve with the State Education Department. nursing applicants must enlist or be called up before age 30. Both fields allow eligible applicants from existing categories to apply by June 30, 1946. Transfers to other courses are not considered. Applications available at the Ministry of Post-war Reconstruction offices and Commonwealth Employment Service branches.
