Burra Burra District Council Bushfire Equipment Debate 1948
The Burra Burra District Council meeting of 6 December 1948 reviewed: radio equipment for bushfire response, land reserve issues, school and road matters, grants from highways department, and a British War Widows Appeal fund. Delegates requested temporary use of plant, discussed drainage and road works near Mt. Bryan, and considered building material act provisions for district inspection. A motion to extend old truck body to fit a new Austin was approved. further road and fire safety measures were debated with police inspection powers to be pursued.
