A large crowd attended the Burra Town Hall Ball on Friday evening August 21 raising over £00 at the door. The Amor venue was crowded with dancing, the hall richly decorated with almond blossoms red-hot pokers and balloons. Pirie Ambassadors Band provided music, decorations were by J Sorrell and C Dayey.
The event began with a reading of Ode to Remembrance by Mr Q H Griffen at 8 oclock. Hat judging followed with winners for Most Humorous Most Original Smallest Tallest Most Artistic chosen amid a gathering featuring Mrs Schul Miss Jenison Mr Tver Mrs Elder Mrs Head ing. Supper featured poultry savories and cakes with pastel Gawler Sweet peas centerpiece.
