The VW acre Wigley Property near Leighton sold at auction in Burra Town Hall to Mr T Achton for 112 50. The bid started at 7 and climbed to 211 before dropping and being passed in when Mr Bennett failed to raise. The site, part of four lots, has been in the Winter family for about 33 years and used for sheep tending.

Fireside Chairs Presented to Burra Hospital
Greenacres Hospital Group donated four specially built fireside chairs to Burra Hospital on Friday afternoon. Mrs John Drew and Mrs S Newton Collins represented the group and said the chairs replace the usual money donation. C W Gare of the Board of Management thanked the donors for their long support.
