Mayor Welcomes Delegation of N S W Stockbreeders
His Worship the Mayor H. Jenmison with Dr R A Bevan welcomed the NSW Stockbreeders delegation as they arrived in Burra on Sunday. Colonel Chislom, leader, wished to place a wreath on the Monument for Anzac Day. Burra was praised as an historic town and the visitors were assured of local help. A visit to Redruth Anzac Service followed. A civic reception and a visit to Mrs T Pascoe’s Saloon to view Burra sheep pictures were planned for the evening.

School lunch day raises funds for Balaklava trip
On Friday last the whole school bought food brought in by one House. Proceeds amount to £3 for the Balaklava trip on May 7. Ten dozen saveloys and rolls were sold plus other foods, while the day showcased the students’ capacity. Next Friday features the local High School Sports day at the Racecourse with Parents and Friends offering afternoon tea at a small charge.
