Notable Northern figure Bert Rickaby recollects travels and floods
The article profiles Bert Rickaby a veteran of Northern pastoral life now visiting with the Nihils at Hingston Farms. It recalls his 1923 camel wagon voyage from Mar yo Mile Bore lasting seven weeks, the caravan striking during rare heavy rain, and camels refusing to move. Rickaby notes floods opening up previously buried stations and hints at routes like Kelly-paper Trick near Brreslecki river reemerging.
