Burra Racecourse hosts record Anzac sports gates takings
Burra Sub-Branch of the 84 organized a Burra Racecourse event on Saturday featuring cycle and speed car racing. Gate takings are reported as a record £113, surpassing last year’s £203, with 53 riders competing, eight speed cars, and a parasol of entertainments including a female impersonation cycle race. Dusty track conditions led to speed cars moving to the horse track with approval of the Burra Racing Club. The day ended with a packed hall and a Catherine Orchestra dance, amid a full organizing committee and officials list.
