Farewell Evening for Pastor and Mrs Ashdown at Kooringa
Friends gathered Friday evening at Kooringa Methodist to bid farewell to Pastor and Mrs Ashdown. Represented denominations included Kooringa Farrell Flat Worlds End and Redruth churches. Miss Raith Mounce and Mrs Kiem sang while a piano duet by Mrs Val Terry and Miss Mary Best accompanied the event. Speeches by church and circuit members honored the couple and a travelling rug and cup saucer were given. Burra folk regret their move but wish them success in Plympton and future circuits. Pastor Martin of Wadinna will join Kooringa Circuit and lead an Easter Good Friday service at 10 am.
