Heary Co Farmer Tops Indiana Corn Contest With 129.7 bu/ac
Indiana 559 corn growers across 58 counties completed a five acre contest with an average of 74 bushels per acre. W H Hardin of Henry County led at 129.7 bu/ac on Blue River bottom land. Roy Snoeberger of Carroll and E S Thomas of Straugham followed with 121.9 and 120.9 bu/ac respectively. Medals awarded by Indiana Soy Growers Association and Purdue University extension honor top yields and cooperative effort.

The Rev and Mrs Elvin Daieix of Monticello report their son Earl Daniels won first place in Butler College Oratorical Contest held Tuesday. Daniels, a Butler sophomore, will represent Butler in the state contest next January with winners from about seven colleges, then advance to an interstate meet with about twenty colleges.
