Edward Hutchinson 45 killed his wife 40 at their Onward area home then stabbed himself. Mrs Hutchinson died at Loganport hospital at 2:15 PM. Hutchinson died in an adjoining room shortly after. Two children witnessed the assault. neighbors and a posse battled smoke and a fleeing suspect.
Paul A. Miller of Logansport married Irene Temple of Adams township on Nov 27 at the Presbyterian Manse in Rockfield. Rev. Cecil Atkinson officiated. the marriage was kept secret for two weeks. Mrs. Miller is the daughter of Lewis and Mrs. Temple of Lockport and a Burrows teacher. The couple will reside in Logansport after Mr. Miller finishes with the railroad.
Patrons of Lake Cicott school donate a 10 by 15 foot flag floated from the flag staff on Tuesday noon for the first time. Teachers and pupils express pride in the national colors and have arranged with the janitor to maintain proper care of the flag.
The old Hopedale schoolhouse four miles south of Idaville in Carroll County burned Friday morning. Only the students books were saved. The building, cement block construction, housed a furnace unused and heating by stove. The fire ruined desks furniture and the bell split on impact.
The Postal Bulletin notes rural delivery routes will be off on New Year's Day Washington's birthday Memorial Day Decoration Day Labor Day Christmas Day and any President set Thanksgiving Day. No mail will be delivered on those rural routes on those days in the future. Patrons must govern themselves accordingly.

W H Bear died yesterday afternoon at his daughter's home near Royal Centre from a stroke of paralysis. The funeral will be held tomorrow at one from the home with interment at Davis cemetery. Mrs Bear was sister of Frank and Fred Davis and Mrs Dr Risser of this place.
Dandelions bloomed in Burnettsville yards Sunday as a crisp bracing day felt almost like a September afternoon. Residents described the weather as pleasant with gentle spring colors and mild air.

Consolidated School Open Schools started in the new Adams township building on Tuesday morning. The affected campuses are Cedarville Hopedale Lockport and Great Eastern with instructors James Caughell Laura Temple Josephine Irelan and Anna Girard.
Wallace and Dwight Buchanan were weekend guests of their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Davis in Logansport.

On Tuesday morning Wm Myers found a robin on his front porch basking in the sun. Later another robin was spotted on a nearby rape vine feeding on dried grapes, noting a mild December sighting in town.

Mrs. Sarah C. Young wife of Prof. Frank E. Young a former White county school teacher died at the family home in Upland Indiana on Nov 29 age 58 years 6 months 6 days She was born on a farm near Flora second child of Martin and Susannah Hoff Married January 26 1889 in Ora n Lang to Frank E Young of Carroll county They had a daughter Mrs. Charies R. Smith of Delphi a son Fred L. Young of Crown Point Ind Three sisters sisters Elmer Musselman Flora Bert Sink Flora Myrtle Hoff Flora The family lived in Monticello Reynolds and Walcott while Prof Young taught in White county They moved to Upland in August where Prof Young was principal Mrs Young was ill only a few days.
Veteran Samuel A Albright died at his home five miles north of town on Monday from cancer after a period of illness. He planned a public sale of his property on the 12th but fell ill before the date. Age over eighty, Civil War service noted. Funeral at his home yesterday at ten, burial in a Monon area cemetery. Three children survive.
Milt Reiff and son announce a sale of twenty five pure bred Shorthorn cattle at their farm one mile west of Burnettsville on Tuesday January 15. The offering includes cows with calves by their sides cows bred to calve soon and yearling heifers and bulls from an accredited herd three years retested with never a reactor.
