White County Red Cross Drives Generosity in Campaign

Militia Mustered Into Federal Service at Monticello Park
Co. C M G was mustered into U S service Friday morning at Monticello city park with 150 men taking the oath in front of friends and relatives. The unit includes nine surplus members and nine from the ranks forming an unattached squad, enrolled as third regiment men under Capt Cray. Medical pass results are pending for many, and some may be released or replaced by unattached squad members. Six old members, including musician Merl Nethercutt, are dropped due to a War Department rule barring married men with dependents from service.
