School Grounds Sold for Good Price at Public Auction
Trustee George Tarr sold two township school grounds at his office in a noon auction. The four acre north-of-railroad tract bought last year from John E. Timmons sold for 1380 to Larue Cable, after opening at 800. The township had paid 1200 last summer, and the sale reclaimed money with interest. Bidders included Bert Irelan John E. Timmons Larue Coble and Will Galbreth. The south-of-railroad tract 135 acres with old building sold to Larue Coble for 350. Total receipts 1780, exceeding expectations of Tarr and the board.

Enthusiastic Meeting Endorses City Fire Engines Purchase
A public meeting in the school discussed fire protection and housing for two Chenchainé Boyer portable engines bought for 850. Committees on Building Finance and more were formed to report tonight, with a possible fire alarm and a home for the engines under consideration. Harry Hufford of Carroll County born June 8 1902 died Aug 3 1914 at age 32. Funeral held yesterday. Mrs William McElhaney and sons visiting Macy mother.
