Reunion of former students of Great Eastern school near Burnettsville
The second annual reunion of former scholars from the Great Eastern school southeast of Burnettsville is planned for Labor Day at Lake Cicott. About forty alumni remain, with many former teachers invited. Postmaster George B. Davis of Logansport will deliver the main address comparing schools of today with forty years ago. Officers include W. S. Wirrick president Clifford Good vice president Gertude Johnson secretary Dollie Cree assistant secretary and Mack Donnelly treasurer.

Attempted post office safe explosion in Idaville
Early in the morning Idaville residents found the post office door ajar and an attempted safe blow was foiled by putty and dynamite caps. The combination lock was tampered with and a pair of dynamite fuses failed to detonate. Two youths visiting town are suspected, with nearby matches bearing Anheuser branding found at the scene.

White County Receives $4,000 Auto Tax Share
The auditor's office reports White County received 4000.92 dollars from the second semi annual apportionment of the State Automobile Tax Fund. Funds go to the Turnpike Fund for county road material and are disbursed by the county road superintendent. The distribution uses thirds for equal shares, road mileage proportion, and tax paid, with $1400 noted in the first year's receipts. January checks may be smaller due to new machines and late license payments.
