Six Flora youths traveling from the Epworth League institute were in a car driven by John Weaver when a northbound Monon passenger train struck the vehicle at Battle Ground around 5 30 pm. Mary Allbaugh, 17, was killed. Fern Minnix, 16, and John Weaver were injured. Bethel Minnix, Ethel Minnix, and Henry Arnold escaped unharmed.

Breaks His Right Arm While Adjusting Swing
Master Ralph Sutter son of Chas Sutter broke his right arm last Thursday at the family home while adjusting a swing. He fell from a tree limb landing with the arm under him and across a box, fracturing both bones between elbow and wrist. Dr Galbreth set the fractures within half an hour and applied splints.

Teenager Hurts Arm in Wheat Hauling Accident
Delmar Houser sixteen son of Mr and Mrs Ora Houser of two miles north of town suffered a broken right arm in a wheat hauling accident on Tuesday. While atop a load of sheaves the load shifted throwing him down his foot caught in the lines and he fell breaking both bones just below the elbow. No doctor nearby until Monticello could dress the fracture and healing will take several weeks.
