The event will be june 3 at 7 30 . Int the Burnet High school auditorium. Judging will be on Beauty of figure and face Charm poise and personality. The Winner of the miss Burnet pageant and the first and second runners up will appear in the miss Highland lakes Beauty pageant which is an official miss Texas universe pageant preliminary contest. Miss Texas universe compete in the miss Usa pageant. The contestants will appear in a one piece swimsuit and in formal gown of their Choice. Tickets will be on Sale from any committee member of the Public relations committee and at the chamber of Commerce office and at the door the night of the pageant. A group of landowners Are on the Agenda for the tuesday night regular meeting of the Board of trustees. The landowners had met May 3 with the Burnet school trustees to discuss the school District s proposed ranch land re evaluation. After much discussion of the school tax situation facing the Burnet Cist the landowners and Board members agreed to continue the discussion at the May 17 Burnet Cist Board meeting. The school Board will hear a report from their committee concerning continuing contracts for Burnet Cist teachers. Their committee met recently with a committee from the Burnet classroom teachers association to discuss the organization s gaming continuing contracts for Burnet teachers. Pre registration slated Friday for kindergarten first grades Burnet a pre registration and orientation for kindergarten and first Grade in the Burnet consolidated Independent school District for the 1977-1978 school year will be held Friday May 20 at 1 . In the Burnet and Bertram elementary schools. Children who will be five years old on or before september 1., 1977 Are eligible for kindergarten. Prospective first graders must be six years old on or before september i 1977. Parents who Are interested in enrolling their three and four year old children in Early childhood will be advised during pre school registration As to the qualifications for participation in the program in operation in the Burnet elementary school. Documents required before formal registration in september include a Legal birth certificate a completed and currant immunization record and health form. She also said the county pays the Library s electric Bill. City funds Are currently Given to the Library at the rate of $150 per month. He said he was under the impression that that was what the $150 per month was now being used for. Tippit s recommendations will be incorporated into the tentative budget to be voted on by the City Council in june at which time those present thursday night and others May again make their feelings known directly to the Council. First to be heard was Gene Spitzer coordinator of the neighbourhood centers for Burnet county. Spitzer briefly outlined the programs coordinated by his group stressing the elderly meals program and that program s need for additional funding. The a meals on wheels Quot program currently receives 30 per cent funding from Burnet county and a portion of the City s Revenue sharing funds As Well As donations from civic groups. Spitzer asked for additional Money to subsidize those who Don t get free meals. He also asked for Many other items including an air conditioner free electricity a portable dishwasher thirty folding chairs five folding tables a new refrigerator a new Freezer a swing set and slide and Money to lease a Van to provide transportation during the sum Mer. Although he said he had not put a total Dollar figure on his Long list of requests when questioned by Tippit he said he thought they would All add up to about $3,500. Spitzer also explained the elderly meals program As being available to anyone Over the age of 60 who was not eating Well. A Are there no income limitations Quot Tippit asked him.
