Burnet County Judges Hear Tax Report and Approve Subdivision
The Burnet County Commissioners Court met July 28 with a light agenda. Tax Assessor-Collector Brownlee Feild presented a Supplemental Tax Roll to correct errors, completing the 1974 roll with taxes totaling 48,001.16 state, 247,681 county general, and 84,668 county special. 96.5 percent collected. Feild credited deputies Sallye Long, Donna Green, Alice Jennings, and Nancy Collins. The court also received a Distinguished Service Award from Hill Country Water Conservation District. Attorney Camm Lary presented Rolling Hills subdivision of 12 lots along Highway 281 north of Marble Falls, awaiting local water and utilities arrangements. the court approved the subdivision despite a 40-foot road concern.

Johnny Melton was chosen as executive director replacing H M Farmer who left to join Christ for the Nations Institute. Billie Pratt became chairman and Ed Young vice chairman.
